Beachin'
We spend as much time on the coast as we can when the weather is nice (WHO WOULDN'T?). We just purchased a reliable and economical vehicle, so there will more-than-likely be tons of trips there this summer! Hopefully you don't get sick of seeing beach-y photos...These are from last weekend, we're planning to be there for Memorial weekend as well. We should really just move there! Here's the front driver's side of the new-to-us car; a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T (Yep, that's a "T" for turbo. And MAN is it fun to drive!)
One of my favorite things to do no matter WHERE I am, taking my shoes off.
We arrived in Lincoln City just before 1am, put Taryn to sleep at our friend Matt's place, and went for a moonlit walk (much needed Momma-Daddy time) on the beach. Love. This is the Devil's Punch Bowl, because of the name, I HAD to check it out. I have video too. I'll think about adding that...hmmmmm...
Can you see the surfers? How about the shark??
Wwwwwheeerrrrre's Momma?? Climbing trees, another of my favorite things to do.
He wanted to be a monkey too.
We took three, this one turned out the best...ugh. It's still cute though! Kids, puppies and cameras don't usually work out well anyway.
He was finding sticks for Skunk for HOURS!
One of the 48 sticks that Taryn wanted Justin to throw for the dog. Skunk's so distracted by EVERYTHING, but he got that stick! Justin, by the way, is one of Taryn's adopted uncles. T nicknamed him Donkey, THAT'S how much he hangs around. We love him like family!
If you heard me say "I'm recording..." that was me trying to let Devon know he needed to watch his language. I'll start notifying him BEFORE I hit that little red button. I'm not used to the whole "having a nice camera that I can actually record with" thing yet...Don't let Taryn fool you, he was having a BLAST! This was the park where we climbed the trees and watched Skunk chase squirrels. Devil's Punch Bowl. Yeah, I decided I should post it. Oh, by the way, there was no shark.

Hardcore Mother's Day
Sorry about the visit to Idaho photos, we didn't really take many! I might post a few in a couple of days...We didn't do much for Mother's Day, and that's exactly how I wanted it. I got to sleep in while Devon took Taryn to the Lloyd Center (a local mall) to get my gifts, after I put my face on we spent a few hours at the indoor playground Playdate PDX, then we came home and I got to put some ink in Devon!
Here's the sketch.
Here it is in the skin. I enjoyed it WAAAAAY to much and we're now contemplating sending me to tattoo school...we'll see what happens...I don't know if I'll enjoy stabbing sweaty strangers as much as I enjoy stabbing people I know!
Devon and Taryn got Momma new jewelry and a bag for Mother's day...now I have wings to FLY!
Yoshi rides me, I figure he needs a break after hauling around fat Italians all the time...My boys are great shoppers! See how ecstatic I am??

A Sunny Day!
We had a really nice day today, so, after the gym and a work schedule meeting (snore) we went to THE PARK!
Skunk has problems in public; leash anxiety, he gets tied up after bit of training so I can play.
I kept asking him to look at the camera and he started "shushing" me. Such a turd!!
That's it!

Reptile Love
Taryn has been ALL about dinosaurs and dragons lately. He's constantly roaring and stalking around on his hands and feet pretending he is a ferocious predatory beast. When we go for walks, he throws his arms out and runs saying "I'm flying like a dragon!" So funny...I like to fly with him...
Anyway, earlier this week I dropped my septum ring down the sink drain-NON-recoverable-and we had to make a trip to buy a new one. We went to all sorts of novelty stores and played around at the mall while we were on a jewelry search and Taryn was SO well-behaved, saying hello to everyone, roaring and flying....but when we went to Hot Topic, there were TOO MANY things that Taryn enjoyed on the shelves, it was about the fifth stop and he had lost his patience. The best of all, the product that he seemingly would've DIED for:
He was so excited about this backpack that he actually POSED for a photo!! Isn't it cool? Secretly, I wanted it as much as he did. He didn't really throw a fit to get it either, Taryn's too cool for public tantrums...HAHA!! All he did was say please about 8, 462 times.
Skunk likes to play ferocious beast with Taryn too. Here they are killing a water gun...notice how I confuse the dog's name with our child's? ...Yeah.

Waiting Out the Winter
HEYEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
We're back online now, if you're wondering what's going on just come on over and check out the blog. Or you could call...but I can guarantee you that nothing much is happening right now. The weather sucks too much.
St. Patricks day was a blast, you can tell by Taryn's expression...
Since Devon and I live on different schedules, Taryn and I celebrated a little during the day. We got all dressed up in our greens, had Lucky Charms with green milk, made green play-dough and listened to Dropkick Murphy's all day!
He was telling me "I love this shirt." He LOVES his dinosaurs. Devon went to work out the other day and they had dinosaurs at the fitness centers' daycare. Taryn was SO excited that he tried to run out and show daddy! The sitter loved that.
I love those heels! Found them at Goodwill for $7!!
We canNOT get him to smile for photos lately. Any suggestions?
We played with some home-made play-dough for hours (thanks for the memories, Mom). We took footprints of the dinosaurs and made them boats for something to sail around the coffee table in.

Pygocentrus Nattereri
Since our family has moved and we're now in the city, we've made a grown-up decision to NOT have any pets...except for piranha.
Red-bellied Piranhas!!! From the moment these little guys hatch from their tiny eggs in the wild, they are armed and dangerous! Currently we have three; not including the previous picture. (That's what they'll look like full-grown.)
Here's Attila, he's the biggest and baddest right now and kind of lazy. Here we are acclimating him and Genghis to their new, bigger tank.
Genghis, he's Attila's right-hand man. They are ALWAYS side-by-side. Two of the first three that we purchased...they ate the other one.
Napoleon, the new addition, he seems to be getting along okay with the others, so long as he stays on the opposite side of the 60 gallon tank...We named him Napoleon because he is one-third their size and he is doing quite well keeping himself alive. Today, he ate the head and tail of his breakfast with no interruptions.
We've had fish before but NOTHING so cool as these diabolically menacing-looking babies! They are hearty fish and surprisingly easy to take care of, just keep the Ph levels down...or up in the tank and make sure they have PLENTY to eat or they eat the weakest link. We've learned from trial and error that if their bellies aren't bulging, they ARE NOT full!
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY
(We plan to have five or seven of them.)

Trip to the BEACH
We went to the Oregon Coast this weekend, Lincoln City. It was Taryn's first trip to the Pacific! He LOVED it...

It was pretty cold and windy when we went on Saturday so we parked on the beach. That's Matt, he and Cari are our friends who LIVE THERE! Lucky.

Sidewalk art and my feet in Lincoln City.

To get down to the beach on Sunday we had to walk down those stairs...my thighs loved it...I think there were about 8,653 of them. Taryn just wanted to play and run around so it wasn't worth it to get him to pose with us.

The camera on my phone has a two (or so) second delay, I tried really hard to get a picture with T in the sky...but it didn't work out and I was sick of trying after the sixth shot. LOL! But I LOVE that second picture!

That log was just washed up on the beach, along with a few other smaller trees, this one had to be about twelve feet long! The picture of our backsides was taken shortly before Taryn and I got our feet wet! Those waves are sneaky!

He was so funny with that hat! He held on to those strings ALL DAY!

These pictures are hard to do. So I'm pretty proud of this one!! We love you! We miss you!!

Just a Little T
We've moved again, and this time we'll settle. It's still a little chaotic at the new place, all kinds of things are missing and I just haven't had the motivation to move or empty many boxes these last couple of days...maybe that has something to do with the fact that Devon and I filled a U-haul truck with all our stuff and emptied it out ourselves too...just wait until you see the ONE THING I COULDN'T help with...
Anyway, here are some new pictures of T-man!
This was taken in our new living room, he seems pretty chill already! YAY
That's his shirt, I'm not sure if he was seriously trying to dress himself or if he was being funny, this kid has a pretty awesome sense of humor.
See? He knows those are the pants...
Feeling a bit nerdy, he LOVED those sunglasses...AFTER he popped out the lenses.
Birthday number 2! Lots of friends and family came, that's Aunt Lavern!! He didn't like our singing, I didn't get a video, but he kept saying "NO!" and "Stop it!" HA!
This was the one piece of furniture that I couldn't help move. Oh yes, the DOMINATOR.
His feet can't reach the pedals, so he plays with it his own way.
