Since our family has moved and we're now in the city, we've made a grown-up decision to NOT have any pets...except for piranha.
Red-bellied Piranhas!!! From the moment these little guys hatch from their tiny eggs in the wild, they are armed and dangerous! Currently we have three; not including the previous picture. (That's what they'll look like full-grown.)
Here's Attila, he's the biggest and baddest right now and kind of lazy. Here we are acclimating him and Genghis to their new, bigger tank.
Genghis, he's Attila's right-hand man. They are ALWAYS side-by-side. Two of the first three that we purchased...they ate the other one.
Napoleon, the new addition, he seems to be getting along okay with the others, so long as he stays on the opposite side of the 60 gallon tank...We named him Napoleon because he is one-third their size and he is doing quite well keeping himself alive. Today, he ate the head and tail of his breakfast with no interruptions.
We've had fish before but NOTHING so cool as these diabolically menacing-looking babies! They are hearty fish and surprisingly easy to take care of, just keep the Ph levels down...or up in the tank and make sure they have PLENTY to eat or they eat the weakest link. We've learned from trial and error that if their bellies aren't bulging, they ARE NOT full!
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY
(We plan to have five or seven of them.)
